Women and Wing Tsun - Introduction.
The fear of physical attacks, especially violation is known by most of the women. But what is going on with the daily restrictions which aren't noticed any more by most of the women as they already get used to it e.g. to change the seat in the bus as somebody gets into close contact unasked or to listen to suggestive comments as she is too afraid to reciprocate.
Offers of self-defence-crash courses overflow the market with a lot of non-serious tenderers. Most of them do not know what they do and in case of emergency they all may fail.
To learn how to defend yourself is not to be learned in one day. Traditional self-defence systems and especially such crash-courses trust in fixed, stereotype movement sequences in grinded combinations. But in the real fight the counter never attacks as the woman studied it before.
Women and Wing Tsun - Self-confidence.
A stronger self-confidence and the ability to treat with aggressive energy not just in self-defense situation but also may helpful in different settings in the daily life. This also avoids women to get into dangerous situations at all.
But how should a woman manage an attack of a male opponent which is often physically dominant?
The answer has given the Buddhist nun NgMui. About 350 years ago she developed the basis of a fight method for women to protect themselves from potential violation.
Women and Wing Tsun - Self-defense.
What differs a kind of self-defense developed by a woman from a convential?
Wing Tsun is an offensive self-defense. With a self-confident appearance the woman borrows the power of the opponent, similar to a spring which is clamped and turn this against the to the opponent again.
The technique of moving forward, of durancy and activity correspond not to the temper of most women. But exactly this teaches Wing Tsun. The head decides as much as her technique of the defense. Often a good self-confidence decides if a conflict takes place or not.
And if so the first second decides. According to a statistic of the police 89% of all attacks are broken when there is just a slight resistance. However, this resistance can just take place if the drive to "defend yourself" is growing to a reflex as it otherwise might be covered by fear.
